Sleeper Cabin Storage: Hooks vs Mesh Pockets

I know some Teardroppers add storage pockets to the interior walls of their trailers but personally I am a big fan of hooks. Why? Functionally, I find them much more versatile. And aesthetically, far more pleasing.

You can hang almost anything on hooks. Clothing is the most common because it means fewer things lying on the bed inside your Teardrop trailer. But it could be car keys, a dog leash, remote control, reading light, or whatever. I even have a mini dust pan and brush hanging by the door. Mesh pockets, on the other hand, have a more finite capacity and won’t help free up much bed space since they’re not going to hold larger clothing items.

But it’s also that I find mesh pockets ugly. They clutter up the visual look of your walls and, seeing as it’s limited space in a Teardrop bedroom, having bulging wall pockets may start feeling intrusive as they reach out into the interior space.

Oh, and one more thing, good chance those mesh pockets are affixed with velcro or double-sided adhesive tape will eventually fall off. Screwed-in hooks won’t.

Hooks rule! Just my two cents, which may not be worth much now that the penny is long gone (here in Canada) but don’t say I didn’t warn you when you find the bed has too much clothing all over it.

So, that’s how I do things with my Teardrop Trailer but by no means the full story or the best way. What about you? Add your own methods, ideas and experiences using the comment box below for the benefit of all readers.
