Teardrop Camper Dishware: Go Heavy Duty!

I love the classic speckled look of enamelware. It is the perfect of form and function, and will look great in any Teardrop trailer kitchen. Quality enamelware is worth the investment and will very likely outlast you. The better quality stuff is twice kiln-hardened and often has a stainless steel rim to increase durability and helps avoid chipping.

My favourite piece is perhaps the 16 oz “pioneer pint” cup 🙂 what better way to enjoy a camp beer!

Hints & Hacks

  • Look for enamelware that has been twice kiln-hardened.
  • Look for enamelware built from heavy gauge steel; compare a dinner plate and you will feel an obvious weight difference between cheap and quality enamelware.
  • Consider buying all the same brand so you have a matching set (see how the small bowls in photo above don’t exactly match the rest of the dishware).
  • I don’t find the mugs that useful for coffee or tea… they lose heat too quickly… but I do use them for soups, oatmeal, etc.

So, that’s how I do things with my Teardrop Trailer but by no means the full story or the best way. What about you? Add your own methods, ideas and experiences using the comment box below for the benefit of all readers.
