To call it “movement” might be overstating things but, though they range from basic & pragmatic to relatively luxurious, there are common threads amongst the trailer units as well as the kinds of people who pull them. And as these quirky crossovers between the RV & camping worlds become increasingly popular, finding a used teardrop trailer for sale is becoming difficult.
Those who “teardrop” (yes, it’s a verb in our lexicon) often have an inclination toward minimalism and value independence, freedom and pragmatism. And maybe frugality too 😉 There’s also a subset of teardrop trailer owners who like to live small—not only in terms of their trailer—and limit their footprint on the world but without giving up life’s pleasures like travel camping.
In a nutshell, Teardrops are to trailers what tiny homes are to houses, the antithesis of Fifth-Wheel trailers with their big screen TVs and massage chairs… it’s not a choice about good or bad, but about different priorities and preferences.
