On my final evening at Pukaskwa National Park on the northeast corner of Lake Superior, it just so happened that there were 3 other Teardrop trailers… each unique but still distinctly “Teardrops”… within a few camp sites of mine. I met one Teardropping couple, and then the next, and that evolved into a little geek-fest of chat and touring each other’s rigs.
And so I hatched the idea of adding this page of Teardrops I’ve Met Along the Way to showcase some of the wonderful variations. Thank you to the Teardroppers who allowed me to take a photo and post it here… if at any time you no longer wish the photo to be shown let me know via the Contact Form and I will remove it.

ROUGH+READY – At Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, my camp site neighbour was Chris from Michigan who let me get my first up-close look at an overlanding-style trailer. Sometimes referred to as a “squaredrop” this is a beefy version of the teardrop camper concept particularly suited to boondocking outfitted with almost every feature imaginable plus substantial wheels and a unique articulating hitch that can handle rough roads and even off-roads.

WOODY MASTERPIECE – Belonging to (and built by) Dennis from Sarnia, Ontario, this wooden teardrop has been crafted by hand, built onto a boat trailer frame, and is an immaculate balance of form and function. It was no surprise when Denis told me he was a retired carpenter, and many of the fine details like trim and inlay are leftover woods–some of them exotic–from a long career using skilled hands and mind.
