Like many Teardrop trailer kitchens, mine has a paper towel holder mounted on the inside of the rear lift gate, essentially the galley ceiling. And like many Teardrop trailer owners, I have sat many a time watching the breeze artfully unwind my paper towel roll.

I’m not entirely sure why it has taken more than year of Teardrop camper ownership to figure out a solution to the great unwinding. Especially when the solution was so simple. Yep, just a matter of hanging a small length of chain (the kind I had on hand is like what might be used for hanging a lamp from the ceiling) to drape over the roll.
I just returned from several nights on the shores of Georgian Bay (trip report coming soon), where there is always some sort of breeze or wind and it worked great.
I came up with a saying several years ago as I watched in frightened awe at how readily, and how often, people upgraded household items and technology of various sorts: the easiest and cheapest upgrade is gratitude. It seems that has nevertheless not dissuaded me from always looking out for little Teardrop tweaks. This one is about as easy and cheap as it gets, yet so satisfying.

So, that’s how I do things with my Teardrop Trailer but by no means the full story or the best way. What about you? Add your own methods, ideas and experiences using the comment box below for the benefit of all readers.
For that reason I switched to the blue shop towels from Cdn Tire, they don’t unravel easily even if dropped on the ground.
